I was born and raised in the United States. I’ve lived in North Carolina for my entire life, yet anyone who knows me understands that Paris, France my favorite place to travel. I’ve been blessed to visit the beautiful city twice, but I’ll always desire to go back. Paris is forever stamped on my heart and I’ll never get enough!
The city has a vibrancy that’s hypnotic, timeless, and magical all at the same time. What I love about Paris is the pulse. Although people are constantly moving, the sense of urgency that I’m familiar with in the States isn’t present; everyone maneuvers with an ease that’s both comforting and alluring.
However, it’s the sights and culture that pull you in. You’ll find treasures in every corner of the city, and standing beneath the Eiffel Tower at midnight is enchanting beyond belief. The entire structure is awash with lights that shimmer and blink for five minutes every hour – it’s a beautiful sight that’s burned into my memory. I also love that you can stroll around different “arrondissements” (neighborhoods) for a completely new experience! The city architecture is breathtaking and completely Instagram worthy!
During my most recent trip, I roomed with my cousin who’d lived there for about 8 years. He lived in a small, charming town, approximately 45 minutes outside of Paris. Looking out of his backyard, all you could see for miles was lush, rolling hills What I loved most were the local finds. We were within walking distance of an Americanized bagel shop that sold THE best baked goods I’ve ever tasted. Eating fresh croissants every morning never got old!
Visiting this magnetic city is an experience that every traveler should have. I encourage you to venture here if you haven’t before. You’ll fall in love!
